The Angra do Heroísmo Museum is a museum of synthesis, where it seeks to reflect, at the same time, a story with their facts and political and economic movements marked by the Atlantic domain and a culture in its many forms and meanings generated and molded an insular existence. It is installed since 1969 in the former convent of St. Francis and features three permanent exhibition, the most significant of which, Sea and Earth: a story in the Atlantic occupies the entire top floor of the building, along with a transport reservation horse-drawn eighteenth and seventeenth century and three other exhibition spaces dedicated to temporary exhibitions.
